Ban on Elephant & Sizzla

There are heightened calls to ban Elephant Man and Sizzla from performing at multiple concerts in Canada from gay rights groups. This opposition is becoming quite frequent for reggae dancehall artists when on tour. The groups claim that the Sizzla and Elephant Man "perform music it says incites violence against gays and lesbians." Toronto based group, Canadian Caribbean Human Rights Group, are calling Sizzla and Elephant Man by name stating they are both known for their antigay lyrics. "Compared to these two, (rapper) Eminem is much less expressive in inciting violence and murder," said Akim Larcher, a spokesperson for the Stop Murder Music campaign."Artists have the right to free speech, but their presence in Canada can be perceived as a licence to incite violence.
Canada has banned anti-Jew, anti-black people from entering the country. This should be no different.""Concert promoters have a responsibility not to provide a platform for artists that openly promote violence against any group in society," said Helen Kennedy, executive director of Egale Canada, a campaign supporter. "We hope that the promoters will do the right thing and cancel these concerts."Thus far the venue for the Elephant Man venue in St. Catharines has been cancelled. Read more on ttgapers

Beenie Man's new girl Barbie

I found this very interesting article that I wanted to share with you.

Are Barbee’s musical relations with Beenie Man causing discomfort for her boyfriend? That’s the single most important question running around in the dancehall circuit right now.
Dancehall’s newest female addition Barbee, has been the talk of the town since she snapped by cameras holding tightly to the King of The dancehall Beenie Man. The pictures seemed to do wonders, as she has pushed head-first into the deep end of the pool of public interest…forced to either sink or swim.

She has enjoyed a fair amount of success since then. In fact, talks in dancehall circles are that she's one of a few artistes that were propelled to stardom without a hit song at the time….well except for L. A. Lewis who is always popular without a hit tune. But news in the streets is never scarce, and get to understand that the latest word in the entertainment circuit is about Barbee's boyfriend. According to sources close to her boyfriend, he's been complaining of not getting enough TLC from the eye catching beauty since she teamed up with the Doctor Beenie Man.

Last week was the first news source in the world to tell you that Jennifer Lopez was pregnant. Since announcing her pregnancy, J Lo and Marc Anthony have repeatedly denied our report.

But we caught up with a family member who confirmed to us that the Puerto Rican songstress is in fact preggos. The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, told exclusively, "Jennifer has been trying to get pregnant for months and both her and Marc are extremely happy they were able to [conceive]."

FOXY BROWN no longer Pregnant

People when I read this article I was so shocked and almost dropped of my chair... Foxy Brown is no longer pregnant......

I read this on
Jail officials will not need to make maternity accommodations for Foxy Brown — her manager says the rapper isn't pregnant, despite her lawyer's courtroom contention that she was.

The revelation came Wednesday as her manager and Koch Records announced that Brown would release a new album while serving a one-year jail sentence.

Brown, who hasn't released an album since 2001's "Broken Silence," was sentenced Friday to one year in jail for violating probation that stemmed from a fight with two manicurists in a New York City nail salon three years ago.

In August, defense lawyers told the court that Brown was three months pregnant. But in a statement released Wednesday, her manager, Chaz Williams, said: "And to the pregnancy rumors, this is the official statement: She is not pregnant."

Foxy Brown gets one year

Oh lawd... I was read on on and saw that Foxy Brown just got TIME....

It looks like all the constant brushes with the law have finally ended up working against rapper Foxy Brown, which should come as no surprise. On Friday, looking tired and worn out, she was sentenced to one year in jail for violating probation stemming from a fight with two manicurists in a New York City salon. "I'm not going to give you any more chances," Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson told Brown. "I hope you turn your life around and never again have to stand in a court of law."

Then to make matters worse, Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was also indicted in Brooklyn Friday on charges that she smacked a neighbor with a cell phone.
